My skiing background

I have been skiing every year since 1991 although I am yet to leave Europe! My skiing experience is extensive and includes a ski season in Méribel in 2001/2, ski repping for Equity Ski and ski guiding for Powder Byrne.

Competitive sport, fitness and exercise has always been a large part of my life which transfers onto the slopes where my skiing style is gutsy and dynamic. In an effort to improve further I have completed a number of high performance technical ski courses over recent years which has culminated with my BASI qualification in 2013.

In 2010 I decided to combine my passion for skiing and lifelong commitment to health and exercise in fitfortheslopes.com.

Mission statement – Be strong, Ski strong

I believe that getting in shape before hitting the slopes is imperative in order for you to get the most out of your time on the snow ,and to help you avoid injury. I find it immensely rewarding working with fit for the slopes clients providing them with individually tailored fitness programmes (and a lot of motivation!) which result in them feeling stronger, safer and more confident on the slopes. I also feel great satisfaction in seeing the improved sense of well being (feeling lighter, more agile with improved energy levels) that a fit for the slopes fitness programme can deliver.

You can be assured that you will find me positive, supportive and non-judgmental, regardless of your fitness level, capability or exercise background. This approach combined with my knowledge of ski fitness and my belief in the importance of being strong to ski strong, no matter what your experience means I am the ideal person to help you get fit, and stay fit, for the exhilarating sport that is skiing.
